Mable

Mable is a French bulldog who came back to us on 19 April 2025, having been with us briefly in February 2025.

Mable is estimated to be no more than 3 years of age and weighs 9 kg (small Frenchie).

  • No dogs or cats in the home

  • No children under the age of 10 years

  • Access to her own private and secure garden (not shared or communal)

  • No cages or crates in the home.

  • Someone there all the time - see below

Things to consider

  • As gorgerous and as sweet as Mable is, she may be messy in the home if she is left for long periods.

  • Mable does not like being left for long periods. In kennels she is fine for two hours, but she would prefer a home with someone there all there time.

Handling

A very friendly and outgoing small French bulldog, happy to meet new people, no aggression or dominance shown. We were able to fit her with a new collar, and one of our temporary harnesses within minutes of arriving.

While she is full of love and sweetness she can be messy if left for more than a couple of hours and therefore she will need an understanding owner with the patience to work with this, and this will be helped by being home all or most of the time.

Walking

No pulling but weaves a lot. On seeing dogs, she has ever so slightly pulled towards it, but that was about it. Interested in people and pulls a bit towards them. Seems intrigued by a lot of things but not nervous.

Happy to do her toilet on walks.

On walks she occasionally skips with her right hind leg.

Playing

Loves sitting on your lap over play at the moment, so she is really after a home where she can be allowed on the sofa (may need a step). Very fidgety and doesn’t stay still a lot. On her third play session she started to engage with toys more.

Dogs and cats

We received information that Mable lived with another dog but they occasionally had scraps (over food apparently), and this is why she will not be living with another dog, and for the same reason a cat.

Health

Mable is microchipped and saw our vet on 13 February 2025. She had her 1st restart vaccination on 28 February 2025.

As a Frenchie she also has the common luxating patella (suspected grade 2) problem on one of her knees. It does not appear to cause her any mobility problems and is not noticeable most of the time. She also may be susceptible to cherry eye.

We feed Mable a Sensitive dry dog food.

The adoption contribution is £225.00.
