Happy Staffie Rescue is an independent dog rescue with a non-destruction policy that specialises in supporting the Staffordshire bull terrier and related cross breeds. We were founded in June 2009, becoming a registered charity (England & Wales) no. 1132578. Our legal framework like many other charities is as a Company Limited by Guarantee registered in England & Wales no. 06941029.
Our aim is to help save, care for and rehome as many Staffordshire bull terriers as we can. We are a tiny fish in a big pond but work tirelessly to provide the best for the dogs in our care from our small rehoming centre in Kidderminster. We have a small welfare team that share the duties of total dog welfare and assessments, veterinary runs, handling e-mails, telephone calls, home checks, dog walks.
Since 2019 we have been members of the Association of Dog & Cat Homes.
Since 2023 we have proudly been the chosen partner charity for Pets at Home Kidderminster. Pets at Home have helped raised thousands of pounds for this little rescue already, and their team of staff have helped us immeasurably with our fundraising and in-store awareness.
We receive no financial support from local or central government, nor are we supported by a larger national charity.
We depend on the generosity of ordinary people to enable us to do what we do. In addition our charity shops also provide an essential income as we do not benefit from the much higher profile of larger, national charities that can generate greater forms of voluntary income.
